一、课程性质与设置目的

(一)课程的性质与特点

《商务英语》是广东省高等教育自学考试中英合作商务管理专业与金融管理专业的必修课。培养目标是“培养具有掌握认知词汇3000,其中熟练掌握2000词;有较好的听、说、读、写的技能;能利用英语作为一般交际工具。”

(二)课程的设置目的与要求

本课程的目的是考核考生运用商务英语各项基本语言技能和综合语言技能的能力,籍以促进贯彻本专业基本规范中所规定的专业要求,保证教学质量。

(三) 与本专业其他课程的关系

本课程是一门以适应职场生活的语言要求为目的,内容涉及到商务活动的方方面面。为其他专业课程打下涉外的商务基础。

重点为第2,4,6,7,8,12章,次重点为第1,3,5,10章,一般考核为第9,11章。

三、关于大纲的说明与考核实施要求

为了使本大纲的规定在个人自学、社会助学和考试命题中得到贯彻落实,特对相关问题作如下说明,并提出具体实施要求:

(一)自学考试大纲的目的和作用

课程自学考试大纲是根据专业自学考试计划的要求,结合自学考试的特点而确定。其目的是对个人自学、社会助学和课程考试命题进行指导和规定。

课程自学考试大纲明确了课程学习的内容以及深广度,规定了课程自学考试的范围和标准。因此,它是编写自学考试教材和辅导书的依据,是社会助学组织进行自学辅导的依据,是自学者学习教材、掌握课程内容知识范围和程度的依据,也是进行自学考试命题的依据。

(二)课程自学考试大纲与教材及命题的关系

课程自学考试大纲是进行学习和考核的依据,教材是学习掌握课程知识的基本内容与范围,教材的内容是大纲所规定的课程知识和内容的扩展与发挥。本大纲对考核的要求是适当体现的,并与选用教材所体现的课程内容是一致的。

命题应根据本大纲规定的目标来确定,考核要求、考试命题要全面,着重考核考生运用商务英语各项基本语言技能和综合语言技能的能力。

(三)关于自学教材

指定使用教材:《新编剑桥商务英语初级》(英)库可,(英)佩德雷蒂,(英)斯蒂芬森著 经济科学出版社,2008年10月第1版。

(四)本课程自学要求和自学方法的指导

自学考试是一种开放性的教育形式,它主要是通过考生个人自学以及社会助学,来达到国家考试所规定的考核目标。从考试类型上看,自学考试又是一种“标准参照性考试”,考生只要能够达到自学考试各科考试大纲所规定的要求,即可通过这一科目的考试。认真自学是考生能否顺利通过自学考试并取得学历资格的基础。

(五)对社会助学的要求

本课程共7个学分(不包括实验内容的学分),共计64学时。

针对教材重点章(第2,4,6,7,8,12章)、次重点章(第1,3,5,10章)和一般考核章(第9,11章)的自学或助学的基本学时分别不少于36,20,8学时即总学时不少于64学时。

(六)对考核内容和考核目标的说明

本考试是一种测试应试者商务英语单项和综合语言技能的尺度参照性水平考试。考试的范围包括本大纲中所规定的读、写的技能。

这是本考试大纲的主要内容,它包括以下三个方面:

(1) 基本要求:指考生对考试范围内的各章教材应该熟记,达到牢固掌握的程度。为使考生更好地把握各章节的基本要求,本大纲在下面“考核目标和具体要求”中,做出具体规定。

(2) 考核知识点:指各章中需要考核的部分。在本大纲中,对于各章节的内容规定了若干个知识点,具体的知识点又可分成若干个知识细目。

(3) 考核目标和具体要求:指考生应该把握知识点的程度,它是本课程进行命题时的基本依据。本大纲结合《商务英语》这门课程的特点,在“考核目标和具体要求”中,提出了4个不同认知层次的具体要求:

1.识记:能正确认识和表述科学事实、原理、术语和规律,知道该课程的基础知识,并能进行正确的选择和判断。

2.领会:能将所学知识加以解释、归纳,能领悟某一概念或原理与其他概念或原理之间的联系,理解其引申意义,并能做出正确的表述和解释。

3.简单应用:能用所学的概念、原理、方法正确分析和解决较简单问题,具有分析和解决一般问题的能力。

4.综合应用:能灵活运用所学过的知识,分析和解决比较复杂的问题,具有一定解决实际问题的能力。

 上述4个不同层次的认知能力是层级递进的关系,后一层次的认知能力,包含了前面所有层次的能力要求。都是考核必须注意的内容范围。

    (七)关于本课程考试的几个规定

(1)本课程考试方式为闭卷、笔试,考试时间150分钟。

(2)本课程考试评分采取“百分制”,60分及格。

(3)本课程考试题型有两种,分别为阅读、写作。在命题中必须按照本课程大纲中所规定的题型命题。

(4)本课程考试卷面中,试题的难度可分为:易、较易、较难、难四个等级,每份试卷中不同难度试题的分数比例一般为2:3:3:2。

(5)本课程考试卷面中,识记、领会、简单应用、综合应用4类题目,各占分数的20%、30%、30%、20%。

附录:题型举例

1、考试形式:

为了较好地考核考生运用语言技能的综合能力,既照顾到科学性、客观性,又照顾到可行性及英语水平测试的特点。本考试的形式采取客观试题与主观试题相结合的方法,从总体上看,客观试题占总分的60%,主观试题占总分的40%。

2、考试内容:

本考试包括两个部分:第一部分 阅读(占60分);第二部分 写作(占40分)

第一部分  阅读(Reading)

1.阅读测试要求:

(1)能读懂英美国家关于商务方面的简单文章,掌握主旨和大意。

(2)能分析文章的思想观点,通篇布局及商务用词。

2.题型:

由数篇短文组成,其后共有选择题60道,总分值为60分,要求考生根据短文的内容选出最佳答案。

第二部分 写作(Writing)

1.测试要求:要求考生运用商务词汇分别进行3篇短文写作,总分值为40分;要求所作短文应语言通顺,用词得体,结构合理,文体恰当,具有说服力。

(1)一篇电子邮件(e-mail)或便条(note),分值10分

(2)一篇备忘录(memo),分值15分

(3)一篇信函(letter),分值15分

2.题型:命题作文,涵盖题目所列内容

(1)电子邮件或便条写作,字数要求30-40字

Example 1:

You are considering changing the cleaning services provider that your company uses.

Write an email to a potential provider.

Introducing your company.

Saying what cleaning services you need.

Suggesting a meeting at your company.

Write 30-40 words on your Answer Sheet.

(2)备忘录写作,字数要求50-70字

Example 2:

The Marketing Manager of the company where you work has asked you to make suggestions for a promotional DVD about the company.

Write a memo to the Marketing Manager, explaining:

What places you think should be included in the DVD.

What activities should be included.

Who should be included.

Write 50-70 words on your Answer Sheet.

(3)信函写作,字数要求60-80字

Example 3:

Read this part of an email from your boss about a group of visitors who are coming to your company.

I think we’re clear to receive the visitors from GRW Inc. on March 24, so could you put the final arrangement in place? Write to their Assistant Manager, Lily Ford. Find out exactly who’s going to be in the group. Check what they want to see at the company and make a few suggestions for social events. Thanks.
